The CMM is the heart of the Polistream system and acts as the master controller for all other software modules. The CMM manages the Configuration Database and acts as the central contact point for all users. Includes the Configuration Client software which can be used by any number of users to access and configure the system. The CMM can be dual redundant when two or more U4000 units are present.

The TXT module provides for the encoding of subtitles and closed captions into Teletext, OP-42, EIA-608, EIA-708, Nufor and OP-47 formats.

The TIM module in conjunction with one channel of a VBI2 card provides VITC or DVITC input for timing the playout of subtitles from subtitle files by a CSM.

The VID module in conjunction with one channel of a VBI2 card or a VANC-1 card provides decoding of Teletext, EIA-608, EIA-708 or SCTE-27 data for use within a Polistream system. Data can be extracted from analogue, SD a and HD SDI signals. Uses include subtitle and closed caption retiming and insertion, Subtitle and caption transcoding to other subtitle formats or for monitoring purposes.

The PMT Module creates or modifies a PMT table to match additions or changes to the subtitle or data content of a transport stream. This allows a Polistream system to correctly modify a transport stream in either ASI or UPD-IP format without the need for a separate multiplexer.

The OPT module supports the insertion of trigger signals into the broadcast chain using inverted of non-inverted Teletext via a T3000 inserter. This is used to provide downstream triggering for the insertion of local programming or advertisements.
